In an afternoon that was clearly moving and memorable to many, about 300 married couples gathered at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford on Oct. 17 to renew their marriage vows and to celebrate their vocation and the gift of the sacrament of matrimony. Archbishop Henry J. Mansell celebrated the Mass. In his homily, the Archbishop noted that the couples being honored teach us “not to take marriage for granted. Every day, every year is a gift from God.” (Photos by Mary Chalupsky)
