Twenty-three students from the Archdiocese of Hartford's four diocesan high schools were honored April 30 along with teachers the students selected for recognition. Dale R. Hoyt, superintendent of schools for the archdiocese, presented the Superintendent's Summa Scholar Award to the students at a ceremony at the Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary. Dr. Pamela Trotman Reid, president of St. Joseph College in West Hartford, was the guest speaker. Each student chose a teacher from either a Catholic elementary or secondary school to be recognized for having dedicated his or her life to Catholic education and for making a significant impression on the student’s exceptional academic accomplishments.
