More than 60 international students from archdiocesan Catholic high schools attended a reception May 9 at the Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, sponsored by the Office of Catholic Schools. Larry Duffany, director of school support services, said that this school year there were a total of 109 international students, the most that the archdiocese has hosted since the international program began in 2007 with seven students. Scriptural readers were international students MinJi Kim of St. Paul Catholic, Bristol; Ying (Jennie) Zhang of Northwest Catholic, West Hartford; and Jiayu (Vivian) Shen of East Catholic, Manchester. The international program this school year included students from Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, Malawi, South Korea, Spain, Thailand and Vietnam. (Photos by Jack Sheedy)
