Over 150 people attended the East Coast Conference against Assisted Suicide on Nov. 22, packing a conference room at the Double Tree Hotel near the airport in Windsor Locks. The speakers included, in the words of Richard Doerflinger, associate director of the Secretariat of Prolife Activities at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, people who are “veterans and experts on the issue and others who have led the opposition in different states whose stories are especially interesting because they have very practical advice on how to engage in this debate and make persuasive arguments.”
